鍾桂英（b.1931），生於桃園楊梅。畢業於臺灣省立師範大學藝術系（今國立臺灣師範大學美術學系）。師承廖繼春創作風格，持續在印象派、野獸派到抽象派中探索、淬鍊，沉浸並享受於不斷實驗的創作歷程，構圖、空間與形式表達並非其創作首要的考量，大多注意力投入於用色跟配色色彩學，善用大小色塊與強烈的對比色系。曾任教於國立藝術專科學校（今國立臺灣藝術大學）、中國文化大學建築系。曾獲中華民國畫學會金爵獎等。2025年於本館舉辦「玩色、巧師：臺灣戰後第一代女性藝術家鍾桂英特展」。
Chung Kui-ying (b. 1931) was born in Yangmei, Taoyuan. She graduated from the Department of Art at Taiwan Provincial Normal University (now National Taiwan Normal University). lnfluenced by her mentor Liao Chi-chun, she has continuously explored and refined her practice across lmpressionism, Fauvism, and Abstraction, taking great delight in an ever-evolving process of creative experimentation. Rather than prioritizing conventional composition or spatial structure, Chung devotes most of her attention to color theory, chromatic relationships, and bold juxtapositions of color blocks in contrasting hues. She has taught at the National Academy of Arts (now National Taiwan University of Arts) and the Department of Architecture at Chinese Culture University. Her accolades include the prestigious Golden Jue Award from the Art Society of the Republic of China. In 2025, she was honored by the NMH with the major retrospective “Playful Colors, Masterly Craft. Special Exhibition of Chung Kui-ying, First-Generation Post-War Female Artist in Taiwan.”
《入侵》，為鍾桂英1998年油彩畫布作品。作者試圖說明世間一切存在的本源，宇宙萬物皆有其存在的價值，有其安住的適當位置，其間有著隱含的秩序與和諧，然而無知的入侵者一—人類，卻把自己視為天地萬物的主宰，因過度追求個人的欲望，隨意破壞自然生態，改變原有的純真樸素，瓦解了自然界原有的共生與平衡關係。簽名：桂英，九八、六月。
Invasion is an oil painting on canvas by Chung Kui-ying, created in 1998. In this work, the artist explores the fundamental nature of existence, reflecting on how all things in the universe possess inherent value and a rightful place within an underlying order of cosmic harmony. However, humanity—acting as an ignorant intruder—presumes itself to be the master of creation. Driven by an unbridled pursuit of desire, humans disrupt natural ecosystems, eroding their pristine purity and shattering the delicate balance of ecological coexistence.
