Couplet in Running Script: Flowers Bloom, Scriptures Expounded is a calligraphic work by Chen Shu-zhen. Its text derives from a Qing-dynasty couplet assembled from selected characters: “In sacred ground, flowers bloom in a sea of fragrant snow; in a wondrous grove, scriptures are expounded in the highest heaven.” The elegant character forms and fluid, natural brushwork create a strong sense of rhythm within a carefully ordered composition. The gentle, tranquil style and rich, even ink tones evoke the refinement and cultivated spirit of traditional Chinese literati.
